Coaching is a development and problem-solving tool that has gained widespread acclaim in recent years. It can be practised individually or in groups and is an excellent vehicle to drive a diverse company’s growth with. Its speciality is that it is always different, tailored to the individual’s or group’s needs. It has meny methods and tools, the selection of which also depends on the situation. Its hallmarks are opennes, flexibility and empathy, its basic tools are good questioning skills and active listening.
When coaching leaders, our priority is to help them identify their problems, their goals and discover the best way to reach them. In a sense it is a mirror for the coachee in which they can see themselves from the outside and thus have a better perspective from which to examine their problems and skills and enable them to set out on the road to positive change. The coach does not teach, give advice or provide therapy, he/she eases the coachee along the path of learning, change and development, all the while easing any internal tensions that may be present. Our most commonly used coaching methods are GROW and DIADAL.
