I attended mtds 6-day equal opportunities officer training in 2009. For me the training was very informative and enjoyable, as aside from theoretical knowledge we gained some first-hand experience as well. I started the Equal Opportunites Officer course in February 2010 I did not expect much from it, however I was very surprised to note that I was enjoying every minute of it. The lectures were interesting, colourful and the trainers incredibly knowledgeable and patient, going over the concept of diversity as many times as was necessary. I came away from the course having gained much knowledge. The course was not just theoretical, either we were presented with many real life examples and got to see how others were doing it. The enthusiastic lecturers gave us many good ideas and examples and also kept us interested with group tasks. Little by little the lecturers enthusiasm rubbed off on us and we noticed ourselves stretching ourselves in solving the tasks. I would highly recommend this course and would like to thank the lecturers again for their infinite knowledge, patience and enthusiasm.

Partly due to its structure, our international organisation considers diversity and inclusion very important and it is reflected in its values which include respect for others. Diversity and inclusion enrich our companys day-to-day operations and increase its performance.  In many areas of the organisation there have been numerous initiatives to support corporate social responsibility, equal opportunities and managing diversity.  The Equal Opportunity Officer training has helped me in this construction work, in putting together the existing elements.  On the basis of what I learned during the training, it will be easier for me to create a framework for future initiatives and actions and also to implenment these. I have found these few days very useful for sharing experiences, good pracitces and for getting to know a lot of background information.  It was a particularly positive aspect of the course that it also offered benchmarking opportunities, since I can now freely seek my groupmates help regarding any related issues.

One of the trainers of mtd Consulting Group ran a training course entitled The legal foundations of work-based equality for the newly formed Equaklity Commission of MOL Hungary on 18 June 2013.  The course gave an overview of the legislation relating to equal treatment and equal opportunites at work, the typical complaints which the Equal Treatment Authority has received from the corporate environemnt, their background and the solutions as well as the methods of handling te complaints. The participants who were delegates of the Work Council of MOL Hungary and the Trade Unions as well as representatives of the employer all agreed that the training provided significant support for the future work of the Committee.

For our company which has its roots in the US, the importance of equal opportunities is unquestionable and corporate social responsibility is also a central issue. Yet, before I attended the mtd training, our initiatives had not been sufficiently effective and properly recognised.  As a result of the training it has been possible to develop a much more conscious strategy and the awareness of the legal background and the calculations of the return on investment have given all of us excellent tools to convince even the top management about the value and benefits of equal opportunities.  For me it was a particular pleasure and was specificly valuable to be able to share a lot of useful information and best practices with my groupmates coming from different walks of life / different companies during the training.

I took part in a series of lectures entitled Labour Law 2012 – Fair and responsible employment based on the new Labour Code and the accredited Equal Opportunity Officer training organised by mtd Consulting Group. Both the lectures and the training were fully professional where all the necessary information was given to participants and all our questions were answered.  What I appreciated most was that in both cases the group of participants was fairly small and the atmosphere was very friendly and informal we had the opportunity to share our professional problems, could seek solutions from our groupmates and lecturers/trainers and we were always offered some good idea or practical advice.  Both events had unexpected benefits in comparison with ordinary lectures/training courses: in the lectures on labour law I liked the fact that sometimes basic legal principles were also explained (e.g. the cogens principle) and that te presenters brought brought examples / cases fromk their own practice due to their wide-ranging experience from both the employers and the employees perspective.  We were able to hear similar examples from the trainers on the Equal Opportunity Officer course and it was also particularly good that thy tried to share with us a whole new approach (diversity) during the seminars.

I consider participating in the Equal Opportunity Officer training organised by mtd Consulting Group to be a great opportunity. It gave me a chance to get a broad view of a new, but increasingly important topic: the situation of the affected groups in Hungary and abroad,  the legislation in support of equal opportunities and best practices in Hungary and abroad. It was surprising to hear that measures to promote equal opportunities and diversity are not necessarily a burden for an organisation, as well managed diversity provides business benefits for a company.  The training has influenced my view of the world significantly and has helped me to become more tolerantand understanding with regards to certain social groups.  Beyond the expertise and the methods applied by the trainers I was very pleased about the commitment of other members of the group and enjoyed beying a member of such a group.
